Just finished updating my VM that I use for my testing and it would seem that things have turned out well per the guidance of folks like Stefan Gossner and Joerg Sinemus.

Looks like our friendly new version for WSS v3 post installation is 12.0.0.6341. So far, so good, no problems have arisen.
